The Service of Deacons at PBC
The Deacon Body is service driven and not an administrative board. The main function of the deacons at PBC is to carry out the Ministry Plan, support the pastor, support the staff and support the Church through faithful attendance and prayer.
What is a Deacon?:
The word deacon is derived from the Greek word diakonos, which simply means servant.

Deacon Terms:
PBC elects deacons every September from a list of eligible church members. Deacons serve a two-year term and then must remain inactive for one year. As our church grows we have found it necessary to elect more deacons. This year we will be adding approximately 5 deacons to give a total of approximately 25. In October each year the church holds a special ordination service to ordain new deacons.
